Corporate Overview

West Coast Institute of Training is governed by a Governing Council that oversees the strategic directions and financial management for the provision of vocational education and training. The Council is a 'body corporate', with the power to do all that is necessary to fulfill its functions under the VET Act. It is a self-governing statutory authority and its members are appointed by the Minister for Education and Training.

Strategic plan

The West Coast Institute of Training Strategic Plan is a five year plan to improve and grow our core business in a manner which contributes to the social, economic and environmental sustainability of Western Australia. Our vision is focussed on our core business of providing the best vocational education and training services to meet current and future community and industry training needs.

The strategic plan uses a “balanced scorecard” approach that identifies five key strategic focus areas essential for the achievement of our vision. Each strategic focus has a specific goal, a range of strategies, and targets for achievement between 2005 - 2009.

This is a five year plan and we will measure and report on our achievement against the plan each year. The plan will be reviewed each year and, if necessary, modified to reflect changes in Government priorities and student needs.
