Approaching the business of providing high level training in an innovative and clientfocused way, West Coast Institute of Training is committed to ‘taking training out of the classroom’ wherever possible, and adopting the most flexible delivery modes possible for the benefit of clients.

Examples of the ways in which this is realised include:

  • one-to-one training delivered by roving trainers in clients’ places of business,
  • ‘professional conversations’ for groups of local business people,
  • ‘byte sized courses’ for fly-in, fly-out workers seeking to upgrade their skills and qualifications during their weeks off, and
  • the ‘clustering’ of some courses, delivering individual modules in short, sharp bursts.

The training and qualifications provided by West Coast are recognised for the quality of their content and the calibre of the teaching staff as well as for the innovative ways in which they are delivered. This is reflected in the fact that several of the IT courses offered by West Coast are internationally certified by vendors such as Microsoft and Novell.

West Coast’s commitment to ensuring that the training meets the needs of its clients, whether they are individuals, businesses, government organisations or corporations, depends on making a direct personal connection with those clients.

In this way, a unique pathway leading to the desired outcomes can be formulated in collaboration with the client. Pathways may be devised to enable the trainees to gain entry to a higher qualification course, to articulate into university, to facilitate a move to a different level within the organisation, or to simply improve their performance and productivity.
