Events

The recent growth of festivals and events around the world combined with the diverse nature of a career in events has inspired many to choose this profession. Every industry, charity, society and group will hold events of some type/size in order to market themselves, build business relationships, raise money or celebrate.

Event planning involves liaising with the client to identify their objectives and target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually executing the proposed event. Post-event analysis and ensuring a return on investment have also become significant drivers for the event industry.

Graduates can benefit from employment in hotels, restaurants and function centres; event management companies; local shires; charities; sporting arenas and stadiums; cruise liners and community groups.

They will have the opportunity to organise events such as: community and sporting events, food and wine festivals, fashion shows and parades, gala dinners/awards nights, conferences, conventions and trade exhibitions and weddings.
