Pharmacy

The Pharmacy industry is a regulated and varied industry and therefore this course is only offered through a traineeship program under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to ensure trainees can offer the best quality care practices.

The practical real life learning environment also means students can be paid throughout their training.

Students and graduates of this course will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in dealing with customers firsthand and implementing Pharmacy protocol as to determine appropriate referrals.

Implementing Pharmacy protocols requires an assistant to have adequate knowledge of a range of health issues and products to provide customers with appropriate medication and self care practices under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

The health care industry is growing and combined with an ageing population, a career in pharmacy can be a rewarding choice. Those attracted to this course of study are typically interested in health care and retail and have a strong desire to provide professional customer service in a pharmacy environment.
